Posted on

Founded in 1929 by three women, including Mrs. Rockefeller, The Museum of Modern Art is known by people around the world as MoMA. In addition to painting, MoMA has pioneered new categories such as architecture, industrial design, and posters, creating a collection that can be called the culmination of contemporary art. MoMA has undergone a major renovation over the course of five years and finally reopened on October 21.2019.
For the opening, MoMA exhibited iconic permanent collections in a new space. Highlights include a room designed to fit the canvas size for the permanent Claude Monet's Water Lilies, Van Gogh's The Starry Night, and the Picasso Room. It is recommended not only for first-time visitors, but also for repeaters who have visited MoMA several times in the past, as they will be able to meet their favorite works with fresh feelings.
One of Japan's leading industrial designs, the butterfly stool of SORI YANAGI is also known as a permanent collection of MoMA. Products such as kitchenware and household goods designed by SORI YANAGI, which coexist in unique and humorous designs and functions are also sold at the newly refurbished Museum Shop.
